Green Event Ninjas is excited to be helping the Pokémon Go Fest with their waste and recycling initiatives in New York City. We cannot wait to create a cleaner and greener event experience for Pokémon GO fans from around the world!
Job Description
Wage:
- $18.00 per hour
- Expected hours: 8-40 per week
Dates:
- Event dates: Fri, July 5, 2024 – Sun, July 7, 2024
- Load in: Wed, July 3rd, 2024 – Thurs, July 4th, 2024
- Load out: TBD
Responsibilities:
Pre Event Responsibilities:
- Recycling Ninjas will be assisting our management team in unloading our equipment and placing x-frame bins throughout the venue.
- Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs.
During Event Clean up:
- Picking up loose litter on the ground and clearing the vending areas as part of event & post-event clean up.
- Hand-sorting recycling and other waste streams to maximize the event’s total waste diversion from landfill.
- Tasks involve bending, prolonged periods of standing, consolidating large bags of recycling and refuse, and lifting bags onto push carts.
Post Event Clean up:
- Recycling Ninjas will be clearing the venue and vending areas of all event litter, patron debris, and equipment.
- This position entails walking, bending, lifting and handling event waste and recycling.
All appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
Additional Information:
Please note that this event takes place outdoors. Recycling Ninjas are expected to dress for the weather (i.e. rain or shine, warm or cool). Water will be provided, in addition to scheduled breaks and lunch for longer shifts. Branded Green Event Ninjas T-Shirts will be provided.
