Who We Are Looking For
Green Event Ninjas is seeking a motivated and passionate leader to join our team as a Zone Lead. In this position, you will play a vital role in providing leadership to our Supervisors and Recycling Ninja’s while reporting directly to the Shift Manager.
In this role, you will actively engage in hands-on support for our cleaning and waste management operations, working closely on-event with our team to ensure the successful execution of cleanliness, efficient waste removal, and streamlined operations to keep the event running smoothly.

- Event Dates: Approx. Aug 26–Sept 7
- Zone Leads are expected to work every day for the duration of the event as we only hire limited candidates per position
Pre-event setup and post-event teardown shifts will be required outside of these exact dates.
- Shifts:
- 1st Shift: Day (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
- 2nd Shift: Evening (2:00 PM – 12:00 AM)
- 3rd Shift: Overnight (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Pay: $325 per day
- Location: 581 State Fair Boulevard, Syracuse, New York
Role Requirements
- Support the team with event load-in and load-out.
- Coordinate and work alongside Supervisors and Recycling Ninjas during all cleaning operations to ensure proper cleaning and waste removal across the event grounds.
- Monitor zone coverage and reassign Recycling Ninjas based on crowd flow and waste buildup.
- Check in with your team regularly through team huddles and one-on-ones, provide ongoing training, and monitor break times.
- Ensure company policies are enforced (uniform, attendance, safety, performance standards etc.).
- Use two-way radios to provide team updates and quickly respond to maintenance requests across the venue.
- Ensuring a safe work environment while operating equipment such as push carts, cleaning tools, and golf carts (requires a valid driver’s license for golf carts and completion of provided training).
- Support the physical operations by emptying trash receptacles, lifting bags onto golf carts, transporting waste to the compound, and managing additional site requirements as needed.
- Coordinate logistics
- Serve as a point of contact for staffing administration, including accurately documenting employee incident reports, tracking attendance, and escalating personnel issues to management.
- Attend daily meetings to address operational challenges and collaborate on refining procedures.

Additional Qualifications
- Work Location: In person (reliable transportation to and from the venue is required)
- Prior experience: Event operations and management (preferred)
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (rain or shine) and navigating crowded, fast-paced environments.
- Ability to maintain a high level of physical activity including standing/walking for the duration of a shift, lifting up to 50 lbs, navigating stairs, and performing repetitive motions (lifting, kneeling, trash handling etc.).
- Commitment to following all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques, safely operating equipment (push carts, vacuum), PPE use, and reporting safety hazards, spills, and damaged equipment.
